Lower Marlboro Nursery is a small nursery located in Southern Maryland and dedicated to the preservation and dissemination of perennials, trees, and shrubs native to the Eastern United States . We also carry a selection of uncommon exotic plants, mostly East Asian, which are suited to our regional climate, are not considered invasive, and which complement native plantings.
The nursery was established in 1989, more as a labor of love than a profit-making entity, and our purpose was and is to help reverse the decline of our region's natural environment and to make available to gardeners some of the fine native species not usually to be found commercially . This website does not represent a shift away from our small-scale, regional approach, but rather is provided as a convenience to our customers and as a source of information and ideas for anyone interested in East Coast native plants.
